Previously published as Not Becoming My Mother, this is a small book about Ruth’s mother and some of the lessons that she learned from her. Ruth did not have the best relationship with her mother as a young girl, but when she found a box of letters and notes in the attic penned in her mother’s hand, she comes to find a better understanding of her.
Ruth’s writing is so wonderful and warming to read. I really enjoy her work. I highly recommend picking up either her nonfiction books or her fiction novel.
I gave this book 4 crowns.
